Grafton Caledonia Wildlife Sanctuary, Grafton

This bird sanctuary was once a cocoa estate. After the devastating hurricane of 1963 the owner took to feeding the wild birds whose forest habitat had been damages. The Blue Crowned Motmots still come out of the forest at four in the afternoon to be fed by hand. Trails have been cleared into the forest for nature hikers. The Copra House Restaurant at this site was once used as the drying house for coconut and cocoa.
